⛵ Sailability Canterbury

Sailability is for people with a disability or impairment of any age that would like to experience the freedom of being on the water either for pleasure or to learn new skills.

Our Boats

We sail in Hansa 303 dinghies – safe, stable, and specially designed so everyone can enjoy the freedom of sailing. Each boat carries two people, with an experienced sailor on board to guide and support. You can take the helm or just sit back and enjoy the ride – it’s up to you!

Sails usually last 15–20 minutes, and if time and weather allows, you may get another turn. If at any point you’d like to come back in, no problem – we’ll bring you in safely.

We sail every second Friday at📍 Whakaraupo / Lyttelton Harbour📅 from 10am until 12pm (weather dependent) We’ll confirm the night before via email and on our website, if sailing is cancelled due to weather.

Remaining 2025 dates are 7 and 21 November, 5 and 19 December.

We’ll be there to assist everyone with getting in and out of the boats – and we also have a hoist available if required.

What to Bring

• Layered clothing

• Waterproof jacket and pants

• Hat & sunglasses

• Sunscreen

• Snack & water

• Support person (if required)
